…that Bluey creator Joe Brumm drew inspiration from his own 2 daughters and his dog?
Creator Joe Brumm has said that he drew from his experiences as a father of 2 young daughters when writing episodes of Bluey. Many of the games the girls play in the show (like Keepy Uppy or Ticklecrabs) are games he and his children played or invented in real life.
…the main character was originally going to be Rusty?
Rusty was supposed to be the main character of the show, but by the time the first episode was finished being made, creator Joe Brumm and the rest of the team had decided Bluey should be the protagonist. Rusty instead became a secondary character.
…Joe Brumm wanted to make a show that both kids and parents would enjoy?
It was really important for Brumm that the show be enjoyable not just for small children, but also for their parents. In fact, Brumm originally tossed around the idea of making the show just for adults, centering it on the challenges of parenting—but he ultimately decided to make a show the whole family could watch together!
…it takes 5 whole months to make a single Bluey episode?
That's right, just one single 7-minute episode of Bluey takes a whole 5 months to write the script, storyboard the episode, record the voice actors' dialogue, and animate the episode! Wow!
…Bandit and Chilli both have jobs perfectly suited to dogs?
Bandit is an archaeologist, meaning he spends his workday digging up old bones (among other things), a dream job for any dog! Chilli, meanwhile, works in customs at the airport—essentially, she’s a sniffer dog! Cute Easter eggs!
