Generally, the date and time location are automatically set with your mobile network, but you can also change it manually. Read on to learn more about setting the time and date on a Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General management.
  3. Tap Date and time.
  4. Make sure the 2 "Automatic" toggles are off.
  5. Tap Set date and Done.
  6. Tap Set time and Done.
  7. Select the time zone or toggle "Set time zone based on location" and close the menu.

  1. Do this in two ways:
    • 1: Swipe down to open the Quick Settings panel, then tap the gear icon to open Settings.
    • 2: Tap the app featuring a gear icon on your home screen or in the app drawer.
    • Do this to set the time and date manually if your carrier is somehow off and your phone or tablet is showing you the wrong time. When you select Daylight Savings, your device will change automatically during the year to continue showing you the correct time and date.
  2. It's near the bottom of the Settings menu.

  3. Make sure the toggles next to "Automatic date and time" and "Automatic time zone" are off (grey and pointing left).
  4. This will open a calendar so you can tap to select the date.
    • Tap Done to continue.
  5. This prompts another page to open so you can select the time.
    • Tap Done to continue.
    • If you want to use 24-hour format (also called "Military Time"), tap the switch next to "Use 24-hour format" to enable it (colored and pointing right).
  6. From here, select your Region and Time zone.
    • Tap the toggle next to "Set time zone based on location" if you don't want to pick a region or time zone or if your location changes a lot.[1]
