Quickly swap the color of your text or font in Adobe Photoshop

Do you want to edit the color of your text in Photoshop? This can easily be done with the Type Tool. If you can't change the color, it may have already been rasterized. In this case, you'll need to use the Paint Bucket tool. Here's how to change text color in Photoshop.

  3. Click the color swatch box in the top toolbar.

  1. Open a project in Adobe Photoshop. You can change the text color when adding new text or editing existing text.
  2. Select the Type Tool. You can use the Horizontal Type Tool or Vertical Type Tool.[1]

  1. Use this method if the text has been rasterized.
  2. This will be in the toolbar. If you can't find it, click and hold the Gradient tool to show more options.
    • You can also press G on your keyboard.
  3. This is the topmost square.
  4. This will be the new color of your text.
  5. This will apply the new color using the Paint Bucket tool.
    • If the color doesn't change, make sure to specify to fill the selection with the foreground color in the tool options bar.

    Try to close the document and create a new one. On the display dialog box, change the color mode type to CYMK or RGB (CS6 Advanced). If it persists, type something, highlight it, Press CTRL plus "T" and choose a color from the dialog box.
