A bamboo plant is a plant that stays green year-round. It is the fastest-growing plant in the world and is regarded as a symbol of longevity because of its long life. Follow this step by step tutorial to learn how to draw a bamboo plant!

  1. Draw them straight or bent; it's up to you.
  2. These should be skinnier than your first drawn cylinders.

  3. To do so, draw four small cylindrical shapes and place them measurably apart, dividing the bamboo pole into five equal parts.
  4. This time, draw smaller cylindrical shapes on the skinnier bamboo poles.
  5. Draw the leaves of the bamboo by drawing leaves into the shape of a fan. Then draw the leaves by spreading them on the bamboo poles. Make sure that the leaves appear to be behind the poles.
  6. Outline by inking over your penciled drawing and erasing your pencil marks to clean up your drawing.
  7. Color it by using different variations of green such as yellow-green and forest green.
