X, formerly known as Twitter, abounds with celebrities. Some reply to their fans, some don't really engage with their followers, and some close their accounts and never return. If you want your favorite celebrity to reply there are ways you can engage them with your tweets. By retweeting and using strategic hashtags, you can attract your celeb's attention. Soon you'll be chatting on X like a couple of old friends!

  1. Sign up for an X account if you don't have one already.
  2. That is, anyone should be able to look at your tweets, regardless of whether they have been approved to follow you. If your tweets are protected, no one except your approved followers can see your tweet, even if they have been mentioned.

  3. It's a good idea to find a celeb who usually tweets a lot -- they are more likely to care about who tweets @ them. For example, search for Tom Mcfly, who is one of the singers in the hot British band 'Mcfly'.
  4. To reply to one, mouse over the update and click on the arrow. It will say: "@tommcfly". That is okay.
  5. Send your message. Tweet a question or interesting/provocative statement to encourage a response. If you just compliment the celebrity or express your love for them, they'll probably silently appreciate your compliment but not feel the need to respond. You want to give the celebrity some concrete material to respond to.
    • Try to tweet at celebrities when they have just tweeted. This way you know they are online and your tweet will be at the top of their list.
  6. Celebrities wouldn't want to reply to something boring. Adding pictures to your tweets makes it more interesting and if it is something funny or relevant to them, then they might notice it. If you tweet things like "I'm your biggest fan!", then they would most likely not reply to you because they get these kind of tweets all the time. Be unique in your approach and think of things to tweet that no one else tweets.
  7. Don't send the same message a billion times in 5 minutes, or desperately reply to every tweet a celebrity posts. Remember: quality, not quantity, will get you noticed. A bunch of inane, vapid tweets will just be annoying and possibly get you blocked.
  8. Use hashtags. They'll increase visibility for your tweets, especially if you tweet about a trending topic. If you have a good story or picture with your tweet, that's even better -- it's more likely that you'll be retweeted and favorited. If a celebrity uses a hashtag, think of how that hashtag can also apply in your life and use it too. Anytime a celebrity is trying to promote a hashtag, indulge them and join in the fun!
  9. Everyone appreciates their message spreading across the X-sphere, and there's no better way to show your appreciation for a good tweet than to retweet it in all its glory.

Once I have a celebrity's DM, should I message him/her, or will the person find it annoying?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Start off friendly, and not constantly DM (yes, it would be annoying). Also, don't send generic messages, as celebs get the "ilysm" and "I'm your biggest fan!" DMs every day. Be original. Treat the celebrity like a normal person - like a friend, not a fan.
  • Question
How can I contact my favorite celebrities without social media?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
You can contact their management through their official website. Some celebrities also have a PO box or address for fanmail, which can also be found on their websites.
  • Question
What is the proper response if a celebrity favorites a tweet?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
The tweet could become worldwide famous, and so does the person who had originally tweeted it. You can thank the celebrity for liking your tweet via a tweet of your own as well.

Tips

  • Time your tweet to when the celebrity is active on the site. As soon as you see they've tweeted, leave your message. Your chances of receiving a reply should be greater.
  • Make sure that your tweets aren't just everyday "I love you, please reply" Try to make them original and possibly flattering because everyone likes a nice compliment.
  • If you are using the X platform app, then you can set notifications for the celeb that you want to get a reply from. That means that when they tweet you will get notified.
