Any Gible that any Pokémon trainer owns in a Pokémon game not before but either after or in the games of Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, and Pokémon Platinum, will evolve into a Gabite when it reaches Level 24, but it can be fairly difficult, if not impossible, depending on the game you are playing.
Steps
-
Teach one of your Pokémon HM Strength. This is required to access the cave where Gibles can be found in Diamond and Pearl, but is not required for Platinum. You can get Strength at the Lost Tower. You'll also need Cut, which you'll get in Eterna City.
-
Head to Route 206. This is the cycling road between Eterna City and Route 207.Advertisement
-
Find the Wayward Cave entrance. From the Route 207 end of the road, head up the right side, using Cut to get past the trees blocking the way. Walk all the way up the right side to find the main cave entrance. Ignore this entrance; you'll need to find the secret entrance to find a Gible.
-
Enter the secret entrance Walk under the bridge to your left and then up to enter a secret entrance to a single room in the Wayward Cave. This is the only location you can find the Gible. You'll need to use Strength in Diamond and Pearl to enter this cave.[1]
-
Walk around the small cave until you encounter a Gible. It may take a few battles for one to appear.
-
Capture Gible. Lower the Gible's health and use a Poke Ball like you would any other wild Pokemon. The Gible's level will be between 15-20.
-
Capture a Gabite (Platinum only). If you're playing Platinum, you can find a Gabite on Victory Road at the end of the game. It has a 5% chance of appearing, so it may take a while to encounter. The Gabite will be Level 41.
-
Level your Gible up to Level 24. Gible will evolve into Gabite when it reaches Level 24. The quickest way to raise Gible's level is to use it in as many battles as possible. If you have some Rare Candy, each one will raise Gible's level by one.
-
Allow your Gible to evolve into Gabite. As soon as your Gible reaches Level 24, it will attempt to evolve into Gabite. Make sure not to cancel the evolution.
-
Defeat the Elite Four. You'll need to defeat the Elite Four and enter the Hall of Fame before you'll be able to catch a Gible. This essentially means you'll need to beat the game before you can find one.
-
Head to the Safari Zone to catch a Gible. The only way to get a Gible, Gabite, or Garchomp in HeartGold or SoulSilver is to catch a Gible from the Safari Zone and then evolve it.
-
Place Plains and Peak objects in the Rocky Beach area. You'll need to place 52 Plains and 68 Peaks objects in order to make Gible available in the Rocky Beach area. This means you'll need to upgrade the blocks you place quite a bit, since the area has a 30 item limit. You can upgrade the blocks by using the Safari Zone a lot.
-
Encounter and catch a Gible. Once your Rocky Beach area is properly configured, you can encounter a Gible by walking around. It may take several battles for it to appear. Throw mud and then a Safari Ball to try to capture it.
-
Raise your Gible one level to evolve it into Gabite. Since the Gible you catch in the Safari Zone is Level 44, it will attempt to evolve into Gabite after gaining a single level.
-
Get a Gible in Floccesy Town in Black 2. The only Gible available in this entire generation can be found in Floccesy Town in Black 2. You can receive this Shiny Gible from Benga after defeating him in Black City.[2]
- Since this is the only Gible available in this generation of Pokémon games, you'll need to trade it from Black 2 to White, Black, or White 2 if you want to use it in those games.
-
Raise the Gible to Level 24 to evolve it into Gabite. The Gible you receive is only Level 1, so it will probably take a little while to raise it to Level 24. The best way to get quick experience for Gible is to put it at the front of your party and then switch it out immediately with a strong Pokemon. Gible will split the experience gained at the end of the battle.
-
Head to Route 13 to catch a Gible. You can catch a wild Gible on Route 13 in the tall grass. Route 13 connects Lumiose City and Coumarine City, and houses the Kalos Power Plant. Gible is fairly common, with a 20% chance of appearing for each battle.[3]
-
Catch the Gible. Gible will be between Levels 26-28. Whittle its health down and capture it in a Poke Ball to add it to your team.
-
Raise your Gible one level to evolve it into a Gabite. Since the Gible you caught in the wild is between Levels 26-28, it will evolve into a Gabite immediately when it gains its next level. Using a Rare Candy will be the quickest way to do this.
-
Catch a Gabite in the Friend Safari (optional). You can capture a Gabite from the Friend Safari after defeating the Elite Four. You'll need to add a friend with a Friend Code that unlocks the Dragon-type safari in Slot 1. This is determined by the code, so you'll need to keep adding friends until you find someone with a code that works.[4]
- Once you have the right Friend Code, you'll have a 50% chance of encountering a Level 30 Gabite.
-
Defeat Groudon/Kyogre. You'll need to defeat the Legendary Pokémon in your game before Gible will appear. This will happen automatically as you get close to the end of the story.
-
Head to Route 111. Once you've defeated Groudon or Kyogre, head to Route 111 to try to track down a hidden Gible. Route 111 connects Mauville City and Route 112.
-
Walk around the desert area until you get a hidden Pokémon notification. This will appear on your bottom screen, and you'll hear the hidden Pokémon cry. Note that there are three different Pokémon that can appear as hidden Pokemon, so it may not be a Gible.
-
Track down the hidden Pokemon. It will be moving between several deep sand tiles. As you approach, you'll see a silhouette of the hidden Pokémon on your map. You have about 100 seconds from when you're alerted to encounter the hidden Pokémon or it will run away.
- Make sure to sneak by gently pushing the circle stick to move when you get close to where the Pokémon is hiding.
-
Capture the Gible. If you get lucky and the hidden Pokémon is a Gible, you can lower its health and capture it in a Poke Ball. The Gible will be Level 23.[5]
-
Raise the Gible by one level to evolve it into Gabite. Since the Gible you catch is Level 23, it only needs one level to evolve into Gabite. You can use a Rare Candy or have your Gible win a few fights.
