So you been traveling in Minecraft doing the same thing everyday, until one day you come upon a village. You feel it's your duty to protect, care, and live with the villagers. Here's how.

  1. The following method can increase your chances of finding one:
    • Write down the seed you are using by using the /seed command.
    • Create a new world on superflat with the same seed .
    • Find a village and write down the coordinates.
    • Go to those coordinates on your other world.
  2. You will want a clear shot of it so you can shoot any zombies attacking. Make it however you want, but you might want to use an iron door so villagers don't invade your home.
    • You can also occupy an already existing house in the village.

  3. Zombies won't be able to enter, but don't forget about the other mobs that can harm you. Make it cobblestone or better, at least three blocks high with at least one block overhang.
  4. This will prevent some monster spawning.
  5. Create more iron golems to protect the village. To do this, arrange 4 iron blocks into a T-shape, then add a pumpkin on top. The structure should transform into an iron golem, who will protect your villagers from hostile mobs.
  6. Traps like cannons and deep pits into cactus or lava are a great way to get mob drops. Don't forget to keep it villager friendly as they can fall in the trap.
  7. Trade with the villagers and protect them.

Finding a village offers many benefits. First, they offer access to free items. All around a village, you’ll find chests filled with random items, and you can also find farms that are filled with many different seeds and grown foods. These farms can provide food—which will sustain your hunger now and in the future—and seeds to help you build farms and breed animals.

Light up the village completely so if you walk around with the F4/debug screen up, the light level is always above 10. Sleep every night in your bed to make sure no mobs spawn at night. Like the article says, spawn several iron volumes around the village to attack unwanted visitors.
  • Question
Whenever I go to a village seed, there are no villagers. What happened?

The seed may be glitched or the villagers have been killed before you reached there.

Tips

  • You can make the walls thicker so you can go up on top of it to use cannons or your bow.
  • Use the seed 1416468699 without the quotes to spawn next to the village used in the pictures.
  • If you like villagers in your home instead of iron doors use wooden doors. You need to use a button or lever if you want to use an iron door.
