Cut out a rectangle with a length of 4 centimeter (1.6 in) and a width of 2 centimeter (0.79 in)

Measure the halfway point of the length. Then draw a line across the rectangle.

Fold the paper so that the ends touch the line.
  4. 4
Repeat this process five more times. Use a different color of construction paper for each repetition.
  5. Begin constructing the first cube by connecting the flaps of one rectangle to the inside surface of the other rectangle, making two phases of the cube.
  6. Make sure the flaps of rectangle one attach to the inside surface of rectangle three. Repeat this step and attach the rectangle to the other side of the second rectangle.
  7. 10
Repeat these steps eight more times to make eight cubes in total.

  • Question
Can I use tape instead of glue, and can I use origami paper?

Tape will not last as long as glue, especially a glue made for paper. There's no reason you can't use origami paper, though.
  • Question
Is there a specific paper I need to use for making an infinity cube?

No, but you may want to consider paper that is thick so that you do not have to worry about it being flimsy.
  • Question
Does the length of the paper matter?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
No, but it has to be in a 2:1 ratio between height and width. Then you can just follow the directions and you'll have an infinity cube that works perfectly.

Tips

Tips from our Readers

  • Instead of using a liquid glue like Elmer's, use a glue stick. Wet glues will make the paper soggy and take longer to dry. If you only have a liquid, gel, or creamy glue, use a very small amount.
  • I recommend index cards for this. They're easy to work with and already a good size.
