If you want to wear make-up that looks cute and you are thirteen years old, this article will give you some ideas. Your parents might tell you you're too young to wear even a cute make-up look at 13, and if they do, you should wait until you're older, but if you are allowed to wear make-up, read through the steps and see what you think you'll like the look of. Cute makeup for thirteen-year-old should make the most of your best features and give you a fresh, pretty look, leave the Smokey eyed, sultry look for your late teen years.

  1. Wash or cleanse your face. It is really important to have a clean canvas when you are applying makeup. Use a cleanser or other products to help heal your acne if you have problems with spots and pimples.
  2. Make-up covers your skin but it doesn't always block harmful UV rays. Put on a 30 FPS sunscreen, use a moisturizer with a sun protection factor or use a tinted moisturizer with a sun protection factor. This is important even if you have a tan. It can help to delay wrinkles later on in life and it prevents protection against some skin cancer.

  3. Many thirteen year olds have lovely skin so don't use concealer just because you think you should. Choose a concealer for under your eyes and another one to cover pimples or blemishes.
  4. Neutral shades such as brown and coral are especially good for 13 year olds. Apply the lightest shade under your brow bone and in the inner corner of your eyes. Apply the darkest color in your crease, and the second to darkest color on your eyelid. If your eyeshadow flakes off during the day, try investing in an eye primer. Younger girls can get away with cute fun shades so if you want to try sparkly blue or pink eye shadow for a party, go ahead.
  5. If you have dark skin than you can get away with using black.
  6. Clear is good too if you are getting into the pool because it doesn't show as much when it smudges. Curling your lashes will help.
  7. If you are fair go with a light rose. If you are tan you can go with peach or a darker shade.
  8. Lip gloss adds more shine as lip balm focuses on moisturizing. Pink toned lipstick can look cute too.

Have fun and take risks with makeup. "Makeup is there for you to have fun with. It should never feel like pressure. It should never feel like a uniform. Feel free to take chances, and take risks, and dare to do something new or different."

Tips

  • For a fuller look on your lips add a dab of clear lip gloss in the middle of your lips.
  • Don't forget to take care of your eyebrows. You don't need to wax them, just keep them tame by plucking and comb them back into place with a clean toothbrush every now and then.
  • BB cream and tinted moisturizers provide a fair amount coverage while moisturizing your face at the same time. It's great to use if you're new to makeup and/or you want a more natural look.

Tips from our Readers

  • If you feel insecure about your skin, don't be afraid to go a step further with a low coverage foundation or BB cream. It will look more natural if applied with a sponge, but just be sure to blend!
  • Don't forget to let your skin take a break! Choose one or a few days a week to only apply sunscreen and lip balm (and not makeup).
