Yes, just Google "chainmail weaves" and there should be a bunch of results, all of them free.
  • Question
How can I connect the sleeves to the shirt?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
You need to stitch them on, with the stitching looping over the rings.
  • Question
What stops the rings from eventually opening and coming apart?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Nothing! That's why butted mail is only used for jewelry, not armor. For armor I use riveted mail.

Could I solder gaps in the rings? If so, do I do it as I go, or when I'm finished?

I would personally solder the gaps after everything is completed just in case you make a mistake and have to open the rings again. But I don't believe soldering is necessary.
