Doing anything "too much" is by implication not OK. Eating one or two helpings of meat a day is plenty. Some people manage quite well without meat at all. The point is: indulge liberally in moderation. As Oscar Wilde famously said, "Everything in moderation, including moderation."

  • Question
Isn't it bad for the environment to mow your lawn, because it takes away the grass that was living there?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
When they recommend reducing the lawn here, they mean to replace the lawn with other plants, such as vegetable or flower gardens. Most areas require by law that you mow your grass, so by replacing the grass with gardens, you mow less, produce more oxygen, and take more carbon out of the air. If you plant vegetables, you also cut down on the emissions required for food that is shipped to you, and if you grow certain kinds of flowers you can help feed bees and other pollinators.

Plant trees native to your area and get involved in conservation programs in/near your state. Often they have programs where people contribute and spend the day planting trees/clearing invasive species etc. Start a vegetable garden and learn how to compost; read up on living sustainably and being self-sufficient. The possibilities are endless once you start learning how.
  • Question

    Torpi
    Torpi
    Top Answerer
That depends on how you make them. Filling it with plastic sculptures or ornaments coated in toxic lead paint, for example, is not eco-friendly (especially if you get them shipped in from another country). But hand-making ornaments out of natural materials and surrounding it with pollinator-friendly flowers very much is eco-friendly. It's all about how you approach it.
  • Question
Is any plant good for the atmosphere and environment?
    Torpi
    Torpi
    Top Answerer
Most plants are. However, invasive species (including but not limited to anything known in your jurisdiction as a "noxious weed") are bad for the local environment, as they take over areas and are detrimental to native and endemic species. Additionally, some plants are better than others - a field of wildflowers is much more environmentally friendly than a grass lawn, especially if that lawn is being mowed.

    Community Answer
Planting trees is one of the best things we can do for the environment. However, you must choose a tree that suits the place and purpose where you wish to plant it. The second thing is you may want to know based on the country you are living in the law on planting trees. Check and take the permission if needed to plant a tree where you are allowed to plant. If you choose to plant a tree on your own huge land then you must make sure that it is not very close to your home as the roots of trees (as they grow huge) can damage the walls. In case of a storm, if a tree falls, it can damage the house. So, keeping in mind these points, you can start to plant trees.
