  • Question
How can I study overnight without getting caught by my parents?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
There is no reason for your parents not to know that you like studying during the night. In my opinion, as I study better at night, you should discuss with your parents. Let them know that it helps you concentrate better and be more focused on your work. Besides, there are a lot of reasons that night helps you (parents/friends are sleeping, most people are offline so you're not going to be on social media).
  • Question
If we take rest in between, how will we concentrate on studies?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Studying for 45 minutes and resting for 15 minutes is essential. But if you seem to have the urge to leave studying in the interval and procrastinate, then it will be a issue. Think about the consequences of not studying and the rewards of studying. Set a timer, and when the 15 minutes is up, return to your studies.

Can reading too much have an effect on the brain?
    Community Answer

Yes, too much all at once and you will not be able to retain as much information. It is better to take breaks so that your brain has a chance to process the information.
  • Question
Does studying in bed affect study stamina?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
It definitely can, yes. Your mind and body associate your bed with sleep, so you might find yourself feeling sleepy if you try to study there. It's best to sit at a desk, or even on the floor if you have nothing else available.

Is it okay to study in the dark with just a flashlight?

That would be very inconvenient and could strain your eyes. It's much more comfortable to use a proper desk lamp. Remember that it's also important to get a good night's sleep, especially before a big test.
  • Question
Can I put my leg in a bucket of water to make myself highly alert?

  • Question
How do I study for exams and get good marks?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Firstly, prioritize your time. Study the main topics before the rest of the syllabus. Studying at least a week before the exam helps. Divide the material up into sections and work your way through section by section. Figure out how much you need to get done each day, depending on when your exams are, and just take it day by day. Make sure to take regular breaks while studying to keep your mind refreshed.

Study with friends, make a studying game, and/or give yourself rewards. Make sure that you stay on task if you study with friends. Also, just accept that it's boring and you have to do it anyway.

  • Question
Can I sleep sporadically when studying all night?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
No, this is really bad for you mentally. Taking random naps throughout the night only decreases productivity, not to mention ruins your sleep schedule. I'd either prioritize getting the homework/studying done first and then sleep (caffeine/chewing gum to stay awake), or do the opposite and instead just wake up early to finish studying.
  • Question
How can I have bright lights on while my sibling is sleeping in the same room as me?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
You could use a book light, which will be bright in the immediate area of your book but won't light up the rest of the room. Even a desk lamp might work reasonably well. You can also buy your brother an eye mask; you can get one for about $5 on Amazon or at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

    Little Miss Productivity
    Little Miss Productivity
    Community Answer
You can always study in the evening before you go to bed but if you feel this is not enough, study from 6pm until 9pm taking a 15-minute break every hour so, after every 45-minutes of studying (even if you feel that you don't really need to). Start to wind down for half an hour before you go to bed at 9.30pm. Then get up at 0230 (this gives you a good four hours of quality sleep. Then give yourself half an hour to sort out what you need, grab a drink and prepare some healthy snack ready to grab out of the fridge. By 3am, be ready to sit at your desk and study for the next 45-minutes before taking that vital 15-minute break.
