Art PsychotherapistFirst, really check in with your own feelings—you might be sad, wonder what's wrong with your child, or feel like you did something wrong. Then, put a plan into place—talk to the school counselor or a teacher you trust to find out what really happened, and have an open, honest conversation with your child about it. Also, remember—this doesn't have to be who they are; it's something they did, and their behavior is sending a message. -

Community AnswerDepending on a child's age, they may not know how to handle their emotions. Anger is an overwhelming feeling and running away just happens to be their way of dealing with it. -

Community AnswerDon't do that for him anymore. Tell him if he wants it to be done, then he can do it by himself.

Community AnswerTalk to the children's parents and remind them of the importance of manners, or tell your children that some people do not have good manners because they don't know any better, and that we should not judge them for this.
