  • Question
Should the motorcycle be on its kick stand or just held down with the ratchet straps?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
It should definitely not be on its stand, just strapped down through the handle bars and back wheel in the front corner of your trailer.
  • Question
Why tie down the suspended parts (handlebars), rather than the wheels?

Because only tying the wheels would prevent side to side motion, but would do nothing to keep the bike upright. You need the triangulation of a higher mounting point to keep the bike standing up straight and stable.
  • Question
Is the wheel chock supposed to be secured to the truck bed somehow?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Yes, but it's really meant to keep the wheel from turning side to side. If it's in a groove in the bed and not slipping, it should be OK.
  • Question
How much pull down do I put on the front shocks?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
50% of any shock provides enough tension, without 'bottoming out' the shock, possibly blowing a seal.
  • Question
Can the rear wheel rest against the tailgate during transport?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Yes, but it would be better if you had a truck where the entire bike fit into the truck bed without the rear wheel resting against the tailgate. There's always the chance that the tailgate will pop open, causing you to lose the bike and possibly injure others.
