  • Question
How do I make a knob?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Just start at the top of the stick and continue wrapping the tape until it is of the desired size. When you finish making the knob, just start wrapping the tape continuously downward until you have completed the grip.
  • Question
I see players that tape only half the blade, or barely more than the toe. Is there any advantage to this?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
It is really just a preference thing, and also could be based on the way you shoot the puck. You want grip where your blade meets the puck.
  • Question
What is the point of the tape?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
It can help by giving the player a better grip on the top of their stick, preserving the life of the stick by protecting it against pucks, skates, etc., and helps the puck to stay on the stick and not slide off after receiving a pass.
  • Question
Should I cut off a bit off the stick if the stick is a bit too long?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Yes, but the flex will be a bit stiffer, depending on how much you cut off. The more you cut off, the stiffer the stick will be.

In a pinch, yes you can. But it would be much better if you went to a hockey store and bought stick wax.
