PDF download Download Article

When you're typing a search term or URL into Chrome's address bar, Google makes recommendations for websites and search terms based on what you've typed. Sometimes these suggestions can be irrelevant, or worse—embarrassing. Fortunately, turning off search suggestions on your Android, iPhone, iPad, and computer is easy. You can even remove individual suggestions with a simple tap or click. This wikiHow will show you how to manage and turn off Google Chrome's autocomplete search recommendations on mobile or desktop.

  3. Select Search settings and then Search personalization.
  4. Toggle off "Personalize search."
  5. Hit the back button and select Other settings.
