What is Skibidi Toilet Syndrome?
If you’ve been scrolling the apps recently, you may have heard of something called “Skibidi Toilet Syndrome.” Sounds alarming! What is it? Heck, where do we begin?
Well, let’s begin at the beginning, we guess!
What is Skibidi Toilet?
Skibidi Toilet is a series of YouTube animations by user DaFuq!?Boom!. The first episode dropped in 2023, and features characters resembling freaky heads that pop out of toilets and say nonsense things, mostly “skibidi,” whatever that means. The series develops with the toilets taking on armies of TV-headed robots and other foes.
It’s been something of a tremendous viral hit, especially among young kids who are captivated by the surreal visuals and delightfully (and annoyingly) nonsensical catchphrase.
What is Skibidi Toilet Syndrome?
Skibidi Toilet Syndrome is an alleged condition where young kids start acting chaotically while mimicking Skibidi Toilet characters, said to be caused by too much exposure to the Skibidi Toilet series.
Is Skibidi Toilet Syndrome real?
Nah. It’s a joke hoax started in 2023 by Indonesian internet users. The term just describes the way kids mimic the mannerisms and noises of Skibidi Toilet characters, and is all in good fun. Kids tend to do that kind of thing no matter what they’re watching, so it’s no big deal.
That said, there are very real effects of too much screen time on young and old minds alike. According to experts, we should be getting less than 2 hours of screen time per day, and that goes double for kids, whose minds are still developing.
