This wikiHow article will teach you how to appear offline in Valorant, the popular hero shooter from Riot Games. Unfortunately, it is not possible to hide your online status within the game, but an easy-to-use third-party app called Deceive can make you appear offline to everyone.
Things You Should Know
- Visit https://github.com/molenzwiebel/Deceive/releases to download the Deceive.exe file.
- Open the Deceive application and select Valorant as the game you want to run the application on.
- Allow Deceive to launch Valorant, and look for the Deceive Active box atop or at the bottom of your friends list. You now appear offline.
Steps
-
Visit https://github.com/molenzwiebel/Deceive/releases. This GitHub is home to a third-party application entitled Deceive, which enables players to appear offline within games that do not otherwise allow you to do so.
- Valorant includes three options for player status:
- Online - players who are running the game and actively playing.
- Away - players who are running the game but have gone idle.
- Offline - players who are not currently running the game.
- Players cannot update their status manually within Valorant.

-
Download the Deceive.exe file. You can find it under the Assets section of the GitHub page. Open the file once the download is complete and complete the installation wizard.Advertisement
-
Open the Deceive application. You may have to allow a few permissions when you open the application for the first time.
-
Select Valorant as the game you want to run with Deceive. Deceive is compatible with a few different online games. We want to appear offline on Valorant, so select it as the game with which you want to use Deceive.
- If you only plan on using Deceive with Valorant, you can check the box at the bottom of the client to "remember this choice" moving forward.
- Deceive is also compatible with League of Legends and Legends of Rueterra.[1]
-
Run Valorant. Deceive should open the game automatically. If the game does not launch right away, give it a moment. Running the game independently of Deceive may prevent the application from working properly.
-
Look at your active friends list. At either the top or bottom of your friends list, you should see a box labeled Deceive Active. This shows that your online status is being blocked, allowing you to appear offline despite being an active player.
- Keep in mind that running any third-party application over Valorant is a violation of the Riot Games Terms of Service. Deceive does not interact with the servers in any way, and does not steal any of your data, but it should still be used with caution.
