Tips from our Readers

  • Use knockback items like eggs or snowballs before attacking. The momentary stun creates an opening to start combos while staying out of range yourself. Just don't miss when they're strafing!
  • Running away can draw overconfident players into ambushes. Use F5 mode to monitor distance, then suddenly turn and strafe for surprise 4-hit combos. Their eagerness will become a weakness.
  • Remember, armor durability and food reserves decide drawn-out battles. If gear is near breaking, perhaps flee and upgrade. Then, return with refreshed advantages to defeat weakened foes.
  • Sprint around opponents while strafing with A and D keys to avoid hits. Briefly pause to strike during critical hit fall comedowns. Constant movement makes you hard to target.
  • When being chased at low health, place blocks to obstruct pursuers. Either pillar up out of reach or box them in temporarily if they have auto-jump enabled. Make your escape!
  • Get the high ground, even just one block higher, on bridges and structures. The angle makes it harder for enemies below to knock you off. Gravity gives you an advantage.

Warnings

  • Some server use splash potions of healing instead of normal drinking ones. Use them carefully as you can also splash your opponents, healing them and leaving you in a bad spot to fight.
  • DO NOT go against hackers if you're not confident or have good gear. Kill aura hackers are the ones you should avoid the most as they fly around you while hitting you consistently while you can hardly hit them.
  • You probably won't get your items back if you leave, so watch out against who you're playing with.
