Customize your YouTube profile picture or cover photo

If you don't like your current profile picture on YouTube, you can easily change it. You can choose to upload a new image from your device's gallery or take a new one. Here's how to change your profile picture on YouTube using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.

  1. Tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap View channel.
  3. Tap the pencil icon.
  4. Tap your current profile picture.
  5. Tap Choose from your photos to select a new photo.
  6. Tap Save.

  6. This will open your device's gallery.

  7. If needed, reposition the photo, or zoom in/out. Your new profile will be saved.
    • If you want to change your cover photo, tap your current banner. Follow the same steps to add a new profile picture.

  1. Go to https://www.youtube.com in a web browser. If you're not signed in to YouTube, click Sign In in the upper-right corner to do so now.
  2. This is in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. You can find this underneath your YouTube handle.
  4. This is at the top of the page, next to your profile picture.
    • A new page will open.
  5. This is the tab between Layout and Basic info.
  6. This is the button to the right of your profile picture.
    • If you don't have a profile picture currently added, you'll see Upload instead.
  7. Use the pop-up window to navigate to your image file. Select it, and then click Open.
    • If needed, reposition the photo, or zoom in/out. Your new profile will be saved.
    • Your new profile picture will be saved.
    • If you want to upload a new cover photo, click Upload next to Banner image and select a photo.
