Take this quiz to see what kind of odor you give off!

When you ask someone, "Hey, do I smell bad?" you're probably not gonna get a straight answer. That's where we come in.

While we can't smell you in person, we can get a pretty accurate read just from a few questions, but only if you answer honestly!

How to Smell Nicer

At the end of the day, humans are pretty much animals, and animals tend to smell! We sweat, secrete oils, munch and digest all sorts of food, and absorb the smells of our environment. It’s normal to not smell like a field of daisies, but smelling nice, or just not smelling bad, makes your day that much more pleasant, and does the same for the people around you.

So what’s the secret to smelling nice? There isn’t one! It’s usually just a matter of hygiene, so here are some small but mighty ways you can smell nicer right now.

Bathe at least once a day. This is the foundation of your hygiene! Use soap and, if possible, a loofa or scrubbing pad to scrub your skin. This washes away smelly sweat and oils, and exfoliates dead skin. Make sure to get every nook and cranny—between your toes and behind your ears, as well as your privates—to start smelling your best. And don’t forget to shampoo and condition your hair; hair can get smelly, too!

Brush your teeth twice a day. Your mouth is probably the second smelliest place on your body, and again the solution to stinkiness here is hygiene. Grab a toothbrush and toothpaste and brush those pearly whites for 2 minutes in the morning, then 2 minutes at night. You can even give them a quick brush after lunch. Also, brushing your tongue for a few seconds helps scrub away smelly food residue. Then, be sure to floss and, if you’re feeling extra squeaky clean, finish it off with some mouthwash.

Wear clean, fresh clothes. Here’s one that lots of us forget about! If you’ve been wearing the same clothes for days—even, and especially, if you let them sit for a day or two between wears—chances are those clothes have an odor. Knock it out of them by doing a load of laundry with laundry detergent. Shirts, tops, and underwear should be washed after every use. Pants can sometimes go 2 uses without a wash, as long as you’re not doing anything super smelly in them.

Wear deodorant. Now that you’re all clean and sparkling, it’s time to add a little aroma so that even after you’ve been out and about all day, you still smell super pleasant. Pick up a deodorant in the fragrance of your choice—they come in all sorts—and give each underarm 1-2 swipes at the start of your day. If you like, you can re-up in the afternoon to give you a little boost. Just remember: deodorant isn’t a replacement for a good old-fashioned shower!

Go the extra mile with a fragrance. Fragrances like perfumes and colognes are great ways to make sure you don’t just not smell bad, but that you smell really good, and that people might even want to smell you. Test out some fragrances and find one that suits you, then add just a dab to your vital areas—your wrists, under your jaw or behind your ears—as you start your day. A quality fragrance will last from sunup to sundown, and make sure you smell absolutely fabulous all day. Again, though: they’re not a replacement for a shower!
