Do you have a game disc stuck in your PlayStation 4? If you're unable to eject the disc using your controller or the eject button, you'll need to manually remove the disc. You'll just need your Model number and a long Phillips screwdriver to get started. The Model number can be found on the back of your PS4 or on the spine for Pro and Slim models. This wikiHow will show you how to get a stuck disc out of your PS4 console.

Things You Should Know

  • Press "Options" on your controller, then "Eject" to try removing the disc first.
  • Find your Model number on the back or on the spine of the console. It will contain "CUH" followed by four numbers and a letter.
  • Depending on your model, locate the manual eject hole and insert a Phillips screwdriver. When you turn the tool, the disc should eject.

  1. Turn off your console and unplug all connected cables, including the power cable and HDMI cable.[1]
    • To double-check your Model number, look at the back or spine of the system. It should be located next to MODEL.[2]
    • You will need a long Phillips screwdriver for this method.
  2. The PlayStation logo should be facing away from you.
    • If there's a cap on the screw hole directly above the logo, remove it. Newer consoles may not have this screw cover.
  3. Fit the tool into the grooves properly.
  4. This will take a few turns of the screw.
    • You may feel some resistance; there is a layer of plastic you'll need to push through in order to remove the screw.
    • The disc should release as you turn the screwdriver.
  5. If you touched the disc on the bottom, you should clean it before using it again.
    • Turn your console right-side up again.
  6. Plug in your PS4 and power it on. Connect the power cord and HDMI cable, then use the power button on your console or controller to turn it on.
    • You can now enter a new disc into your PlayStation 4.
