Unfortunately, it's rare to receive more than one Master Ball per save file in Pokémon games. This is also the case in Pokémon Emerald, but in this particular version, there are some tricks and glitches you can use to acquire more. Will you patiently earn your Master Balls by lottery, or will you use other, less honorable means?

Method 1 of 2:

Winning Master Balls through Lottery

  1. You might have already accomplished this task, but if not, there are plenty of ways to Catch All the Pokémon in a Pokémon Video Game.
    • To win additional Master Balls from the lottery, you will need to match a lottery number to the ID of a Pokémon that you own. Catching more Pokémon raises your chances of winning![1]
  2. In Lilycove City you can find Lilycove Department store, the largest department store in Hoenn and the place where you can get Pokémon lottery tickets.[2]
    • Each day a random lottery number will be generated, and you'll have an opportunity to win.

  3. When arrive at the Lilycove Department Store, the receptionist on the right will offer you a Pokémon Lotto Ticket. If you accept the ticket, the receptionist will give you a number and then check it against the Pokémon in your collection.
    • Match all the numbers, and you win a Master Ball![3]

Cloning Master Balls

  1. In Pokémon Emerald, you can find your one in-game Master Ball in Team Aqua Hideout. You will have to find your way through a maze of teleporters to reach the item, which will be found in the top left corner of the middle room on floor B1.[4]
  2. After you beat the elite four, awaiting for you to south of Route 130 will be a new area for you to explore: the Pokémon Battle Frontier! Here you can find the Battle Tower, where you will exploit a glitch to clone Pokémon and items.[5]
  3. Equip your Pokémon with a Master Ball, as this glitch works by cloning your Pokémon and any items in its possession. Now you can save your game in preparation for cloning.
  4. Speak to the first girl from the right at the counter to enter a Link Multi Battle. Choose the Pokémon carrying the Master Ball.[6]
  5. As the game is saving, before you've entered the Battle Area, you must turn off your system to clone your Pokémon. Turn your game back on to complete the glitch.
    • During the warning message, "Saving, don't turn off the power," turn off the game.
  6. The nature of this glitch overwrites the slot where you first saved your Master Ball carrying Pokémon, also overwriting any Pokémon you left in that slot, with a copy of the Pokémon carrying the Master Ball. You should now have another Pokémon in your possession, and a Master Ball in its inventory.
