Open Instagram. Tap the app icon with a gradient pink-to-orange background behind a camera lens.
- In this process, you'll learn how to take a video to share to your Story. You can record up to 60 seconds of video, but if you upload a longer video to a Story, you'll be prompted to clip it. You can, however, upload it as a Reel and then share it to your Story.

Swipe right to open the Story camera. Drag your finger left to right on the Instagram Home screen to open the Story camera. Upload or record a video. Press and hold the circular button on your screen to record a video, then lift your finger off the screen to stop recording. If you already have a video recorded, tap the thumbnail picture on the far left of your screen and select a video.
