QuestionCan pecan leaves be used as a tea?Community AnswerI suppose, as long as they are safe to eat (grown without pesticides and cleaned first), but I'm not too sure that would taste good.

QuestionHow do I steep boysenberry tea?Community AnswerFor most herbal and fruit teas, it is recommended you leave the tea bag in for 5 minutes, but if you wanted to keep the tea bag in your cup, herbal teas are great for that.

QuestionWhat is the best way to steep chai tea?Community AnswerThe best way to make chai tea is to boil it on the stove for five to ten minutes - with the milk as well as the water (it's possibly the only tea that is better when you don't wait until the end to add the milk). If you don't want to do that, then follow the instructions above, but get cream or tea ready in your cup while the tea is steeping, and then pour the tea directly into this.

QuestionHow can I prepare a kind of tea that looks like instant coffee?Community AnswerPerhaps you mean matcha, it's the same as instant coffee. To make it, pour it over freshly boiled water and add milk to taste (taste it before adding sugar though - sometimes instant tea already includes lots of sugar).

QuestionHow do you steep peppermint tea?Community AnswerAny of the above instructions will work. I would recommend using a separate teapot or infuser for herbal teas, especially peppermint, as the flavour can be very hard to get out. Check out the wikiHow How to Make Peppermint Tea for step-by-step instructions.

QuestionCan I use my French press for loose tea?Community AnswerYes, you can. Wash it well though (but don't wash the mesh with soap), as coffee usually tastes stronger than tea and can affect the flavour of the tea if residues are still in the press.

QuestionThis says measure grams but in America we normally use teaspoons or tablespoons and not grams. So how can I measure the correct amount of loose leaf tea?WikiVYCommunity Answer2 grams in about a pinch of the tea. You can keep adding little tea powder and see the color of the tea to know if it is enough. Usually the color is a good identifier for the amount. If it is yellowish or very light orange, then it is too light. If it is dark brown or close to black, it might be too strong. Medium or light brown colored tea typically becomes darker after being properly cooked and is best to drink, after adding milk that is.

QuestionThere are little loose leaves still in my tea after I've strained it-- how do I get them out?WikiVYCommunity AnswerYou can buy a finer strainer that is used for filter coffee also. Or, you can let the finer tea powder settle at the bottom of the cup. It will stay there as you sip the tea.
