QuestionHow do I become emo if my parents don't agree with it?Community AnswerTry to reason with them. Explain that it's just a trendy look and it doesn't mean anything bad. Ask them what exactly they object to, and see if you can compromise (i.e. if they don't like a lot of thick eye makeup, try do a more subtle look for your eyes). Stay calm when you're talking to them. They won't listen to you if you're yelling or whining.

QuestionI am oily around the eyes and most of the eyeshadow and eyeliner that I put on comes off by the end of the day. Is there anything I can do?IntotheparkCommunity AnswerTry using an eye primer. My favorites are the Too Faced Shadow Insurance eye primer or the Smashbox oil primer. If that doesn't work, try using a setting spray. I like the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray.

QuestionAs an older guy who has wanted to do this for decades, I wish there was something with more exact instructions that would tell me what to buy, like liquid liner and mascara. What should I get?IntotheparkCommunity AnswerTake it as my opinion, but there are so many different choices. My favorites for eyeliner are the Tattoo Liner and the Basket-Case anti-precision eyeliner, both by Kat Von D. As for mascara, my favorite is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. You can also watch some tutorials on YouTube, the vloggers will usually tell you all about the products they're using.

QuestionDo I HAVE to apply lipstick?IntotheparkCommunity AnswerYou don't have to, especially if you want to wear heavy eye makeup. If you do, just a swipe of lip balm or nude lipstick should be good. Try to keep the finish matte or glossy, not glittery or pearlescent, unless you are trying to go for more of a cutesy vibe.

QuestionHow can I do Joan Jett makeup?Community AnswerHere's a quick guide: 1. Skinny brows (tweeze, fill in, etc. whatever you can do to adjust the correct sizing and thickness). 2. Use dark silver shadow (preferably a metallic shade) on the ends of your eye, raising it up into the crease, making a pointed "C" on your eye. Fill in the empty with a frosty light silver. Follow with a gel, liquid, or pencil black eyeliner. 3. Red lipstick! Define the Cupid's bow.
