    Expert Answer
I suggest you write down the coordinates of different locations, most importantly your house, so you can always find them again.
  • Question
What should I do if I'm still really lost and can't find home?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
If all else fails, there's one last thing you could do. If, when you logged on and entered your world, you started by your house, you can check your Minecraft log file. It's located in .minecraft/logs (the .minecraft folder can be found by entering %appdata% in your search bar). In the log file named latest.log, look or search for a line that looks something like this: "YOUR USERNAME" [random text] logged in with entity id 999 at (xx, yy, zz). These are the coordinates where you spawned when you logged in. Make sure cheats are enabled and type /tp xx yy zz in the chat to teleport to those coordinates.
  • Question
What do I do if I know where my home is, but not what direction?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Make a beacon of some sort and place it in your current location. Pick a direction and look for landmarks. If you are unsuccessful, return to your beacon and pick another direction. Repeat this until you've found your house. Make sure to always keep your beacon in sight, or use the breadcrumbs method.
  • Question
What is wrong if I did build a bed, but I don't respawn there when I die?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
You did not sleep in it yet. This makes you spawn in the spawnpoint of the world.
  • Question
How do I find my house if I slept in another bed and I keep being taken to the spawn point?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Destroy the bed, use / kill on yourself, and you should respawn on the bed.
  • Question
Does switching to Creative Mode work with Pocket Edition?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Yes, it should. If you are having any trouble, it could be that your edition is out of date. It could also be that your electronic is not running properly.
  • Question
What can I do if I didn't make a bed and my house is not near the respawn point?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Craft a compass and a map. Look at the map, and run in the direction of your home.
  • Question
I am in pocket edition, and I do not know what to do. How will I find my home if I am far away?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
When selecting the world, tap the pencil and select "creative." The world is now in creative mode. When you are done, repeat the process and select "survival."

Sadly, it does not. /locate only works for naturally occurring structures such as a village or temple.
  • Question
What should I do if I am lost and accidentally set my spawn point where I'm lost?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
You probably won't, but if you do, use /tp to get to your house, set the time to night, and sleep in the bed.
  • Question
What should I do if I built a house in creative mode but never slept in a bed there, and I set off to find the stronghold while still in creative mode?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
You could either make the portal (since you're in creative) or put landmarks or use the bread crumb trick.
  • Question
How do I find my home in Minecraft if my spawn point was changed to a random location?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Build your house around a recognizable landmark (an unusual floating island, a really tall mountain) or build a house at the world spawn point (so that a compass points towards the house).
  • Question
My building is underground. Is there a way to make the map invisible except for what I've built?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Unfortunately, no. But you can dig three blocks down where you know it is familiar. If night, place a red stone torch.

They will always point towards the sun's current position. It could be a glitch.
  • Question
How can I get back to my starting point without using a map?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Use your surroundings. If there is a flat mountain nearby, or a mesa that you saw when you explored, remember these landmarks. If you have a bed, you can also kill yourself and respawn there.
  • Question
I lost my house and can't find it on the map. I never slept in a bed there, the chest thing doesn't work, and I don't remember the coordinates or the sun's position. How do I find my house?
    Audrey Merriss
    Audrey Merriss
    Community Answer
What you should do depends on the valuables you had there. If you are just starting out, build a new house. If you had diamonds, build a new house and build up your supplies. You can continue to venture around to see if you find your house. Before you leave, make sure to write down the sun's position and coordinates, and build a giant glowing tower of dirt.
  • Question
In PE my son created a world, then created a Nether portal. His guy died in the nether world. Is his world that he created still around, and how does he find it?
    Artemi
    Artemi
    Top Answerer
In the Nether, 1 block equals about 7 blocks in the Overworld. Your son should've spawned back in the Overworld at his original spawn point (where he started when he created the world) or at his bed (if he ever slept in one). You might want to switch the game to Creative and fly around looking for where his house is if you want to find it. Depending on how far he traveled in the Nether, he could be quite a distance from his home.
  • Question
I created a portal to the nether pretty close to my house, and I went to the nether. I lost my portal and created another one out of the nether. I'm lost and I have slept in a bed since. What do I do?
    Arden Peng
    Arden Peng
    Community Answer
If you created another portal, it will not link to the portal near your house. Instead, it will choose a random location in the world and teleport you there.
  • Question
Is it good luck if my original spawn point is inside my home?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer

  • Question
I have a huge mansion with a bunch of diamonds, I put a bed in but I never slept on it. My friend said I have to sleep in it to respawn on it; what do I do?
    Artemi
    Artemi
    Top Answerer
If you die without ever sleeping in a bed, you will spawn at your original spawn point, which could be quite far away (depending on how far you traveled). Sleeping will reset your spawn point so if you die, you will appear right where your bed is, so you should listen to your friend. Be aware that if you ever destroy your bed, you'll have to sleep in it again to change your spawn point.
  • Question
How do I find my home when I've set my spawn point far away, and I don't know the coordinates of my house?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Try to retrace your steps. Were there any certain landmarks that stood out to you while exploring? Maybe a certain tree, a block that stood up, etc. If so, try to find them. They could help a bit on finding your way back.
