Keep in mind that everyone’s hair is different. While your friend’s hair may be parted without using any products, you may need to use some to keep your part in place. Whether you use products or not, you should be able to part your hair anywhere on your head.

Although we tend to think of our bodies as symmetrical, most people have many small discrepancies between left and right. Uneven hair density is a common problem. If it bothers you or seems noticeable, part your hair on the thicker side. This will help to distribute the hair more evenly.

    Expert Answer
Parting your hair in a diamond shape would mean that you’re planning to style it to some extent. For example, you could part the diamond starting and the middle of your hairline, extending to the crown of your head. To do so, use the tail end of a comb, start at the hairline, make a downward diagonal part on the right, and then an upward diagonal part, as if you’re making a “v.” Repeat the same steps on the left to connect both “v’s” and you’ll have a diamond. The remaining hair at the back, left and right sides can hang, be curled, or be styled to your liking.

Don't start brushing your hair at the scalp. Instead, start at the bottom and work your way up. Also, don't brush your hair too roughly, or it could rip your hair.

  • Question
How do I part my hair if I'm a man, growing long hair, and totally uninterested in pins or hairspray?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Keep wetting and combing your part whenever it gets into disarray. You really should consider the benefit of a hidden pin tuck. Nevertheless, water or hair gel and wax (the type used to make spiked hair) are all the methods I can think of to keep a new part in place without hairspray or gripping pins. Using water: Part the hair as instructed, then wet the part. That's it. Using hair gel or wax: Follow the instructions on the container/bottle, but only use a very small amount the size of your thumbnail. Part your hair, run the substance along your "hard part"/scalp where you've parted your hair. Let it dry.

    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Use hairspray for your prom, that should keep it in place. But try training your hair as well. When you've washed your hair part your parting where you want it and use bobby pins to keep it there. And in the morning use that parting in your hairstyle. If you do this every night you will soon trained your hair.
  • Question
    How can I part a no-part wig?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
That is a tricky job, but it isn't impossible. It also depends on the material of the wig. If it is real hair, then it will be easier to part than synthetic wigs. You might want to use gel instead of a simple spray, though. Apart from that, follow the steps above.

Wet your hair and then part it however you want to. Use hairspray and hair pins until it dries. Make sure to do this every day until it is trained.

How do I part my hair if it's frizzy?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Just part it as you normally would, then put some serum or hairspray to control the frizz. If you use hairspray, just be sure to brush it afterward so your hair doesn't clump up. Also brush the serum through to get an even application. If you have curly hair do this but skip the brushing part.
