Eating elegantly has more to do with your general attitude towards the experience of the meal than it does with following some set of arbitrary rules. In other words, it’s not the end of the world if you use the wrong fork on accident or spill a drop of wine on your shirt so long as you and your compatriots are enjoying yourselves.
