Hi, so, I deleted a number of photos from Google Photos because I didn't realze they would delete from my iPhone--how do I get them back? I didn't want to delete them everywhere, just on Google Photos.

If you go to the Photos app, Utilities section, and select "Recently Deleted" you may be able to get them back. Good luck to you.

I tried that but couldn't recover all of them, is there any other way? I really don't want to lose these photos!

Yeah, past the 30 day mark they are probably permanently gone. If you've backed up your files you can retrieve them from there too.

Check your archive and trash folders. They might be in there!

There are third-party websites that claim to be able to help restore deleted photos, you could try one of those? But I'd be cautious, most of them seem scammy. This might just be a learning experience.

if you back up your phone, then you can restore your device from a recent backup and you should get your pix back. but save any new photos or files or anything you need somewhere else before restoring or you'll lose those as well

If you want to delete a pic from google photos but not from your phone, turn off google photos backup in your app settings. Then, delete the pic from google photos and it will stay on your phone.

Once your files are gone, they are gone unless they have been backed up or unless you can recover them from your recently deleted folder (which you can easily do yourself). Anyone trying to get you to pay them to recover your files is lying.

I once deleted all my files on accident because I thought they would stay on the Cloud. Moral of the story: if you delete it from your phone it will delete from the Cloud too. Always back up your files!

If you have an iPhone there should be a "restore" option if you accidentally save a cropped image over the original. Just make sure in the future to always save cropped images as new files and not overtop the original file!

On an Android you can go to the image, click "crop" again, then zoom out and you should be able to restore it back to how it originally was.

Be careful what services you turn to to help you recover your data as some are scams. Do you research and look at reviews from other customers. Better yet, see if any of your friends have gone through this problem and used a recovery service that they'd recommend.

If you can't recover the files it's a learning experience. In the future, remember to back up your data to an external hard drive and/or an online cloud storage service.
