A complete guide to the 12 zodiac signs in Hindu astrology
PDF download Download Article

Hindu astrology, also called Vedic astrology or Jyotisha, differs slightly from Western astrology. While the Hindu zodiac is also split into 12 signs, called Rashi, it uses the sidereal zodiac instead of the tropical zodiac. This means that your sign might be different in Hindu astrology! To help you discover your Hindu zodiac sign, we’ve put together a list of each sign, their dates, and their traits. Keep in mind that the dates of each Hindu zodiac sign vary from Western astrology, so you might be an Aries in Western astrology but a Taurus in Vedic astrology.

Unlike Western astrology, which uses the tropical zodiac, Hindu astrology relies on the sidereal zodiac based on the position of the stars. This means your Vedic sun sign depends on which Hindu constellation the sun was aligned with at your birth, rather than simply the date.

It doesn't matter what horoscope you are. Your horoscope stays the same for the rest of your life. But for example, if you were born on March 20th, you're either a Pisces or an Aries (American horoscope).

I was born on 11 March but I don't know what my zodiac sign is. On different websites it shows different zodiac signs: Pisces, Cancer, Aquarius & Aries - which one is correct?

There are two types of astrology. One is Vedic astrology (which is the most accurate) and one is Western astrology. According to Western astrology, your zodiac sign is Pisces but to know your Vedic astrology zodiac sign, you have to give your date of birth, time of birth, birthplace, etc.
