Spotify makes it easy to share your playlists with other people—all you have to do is hit the triple-dot menu attached to your playlist and hit “Make public.” In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the ins and outs of publishing and privatizing your Spotify playlists, so you can share your best jams with anyone and everyone in your life.

How do you make your Spotify playlists public?

Tap the triple-dot icon if you’re on a mobile device or if you’re using the Spotify desktop app. Then, hit the “Make public” option, which is accompanied by a globe symbol. Spotify’s web player doesn’t allow you to change your playlist’s privacy settings.

  1. Unless you adjust your settings, Spotify will treat all your playlists as public and post them to your profile accordingly.[4]
    • To prevent your playlists from automatically becoming public, head to the Settings page (accessible by hitting your profile icon), followed by the “Social” section (or “Privacy & Social” if you’re on mobile). Then, toggle off the “Publish new playlists on my profile” feature.
  2. If you’d like to remove a specific playlist from your profile, hit the “Remove from profile” option instead.
