Did your friend get a new friend on Facebook and not tell you about it? You can look at Facebook's Recently Added tab on your friend's profile to find out if they've been making new friends. Although this part of Facebook is not available in the mobile app, phone and tablet users can visit Facebook.com in a mobile web browser and request the desktop version of the site to get there. This wikiHow article teaches you how to use Facebook's Recently Added tool to see who your friends have added in the past few weeks.

How to Find Recently Added Friends on FB

Head to Facebook on a web browser and visit a friend's profile page. Select the "Friends" tab from the menu bar on their profile, and then navigate to the "Recently added" tab to see who they friended recently.

  1. Go to https://www.facebook.com in a web browser. If you're not already signed in to Facebook, follow the on-screen instructions to do so now.
    • It's not possible to view the Recently Added section of Facebook in the mobile app. If you're using a phone or tablet, tap your browser's menu icon and select Request Desktop Website (or similar) to bring up the same version of the site you'd see if you were browsing on a computer.[1]
    • Your friend might have privacy settings that prevent others from seeing the Recently Added tab, so this may not work for you.[2]
  2. You can do this by clicking their profile image in your news feed or by searching.

  3. You'll find this in the menu bar under the "Intro" and "Photos" sections.
  4. You'll see this above the list of friends with "Mutual Friends." This displays the person's most recent friend additions.
    • If you don't see this tab, that person has not added a friend in the last 3.5 weeks or they have settings enabled that hide this tab.[3]

No, their account will not appear in the "Recently Added" tab because you were friends before they deactivated their account. Unless you go through the actions of friending each other again, that account will not appear in that tab.
