By default, Android phones are set to automatically retrieve and download files contained in multimedia messages (MMS). While there is no way to block multimedia messages without blocking the sender, you can disable auto-download. This will require you to manually download any MMS files you want to keep and delete multimedia messages without downloading the contents. This will help prevent you from downloading any unwanted images or files containing malware. This wikiHow teaches you how to disable auto-downloading of MMS files on Android.

Disabling Auto-Download MMS on Android

Open Google Messages and tap the button, then tap Settings, then Advanced. Toggle the "Auto-download MMS" option to "Off," or disable "Auto-download MMS while roaming" to preserve data.
