How do I give myself a luxurious makeover at home?

When I look in the mirror, I just feel kinda blah about how I look recently. For the past few years, I've dressed the same, done my makeup the same, everything the same. I feel stuck in a rut and just want a totally different style that makes me look my best. I've never really done a makeover before, so what are the basic steps I should follow? FYI I don't really have a lot of extra money to buy new makeup or supplies, so any budget-friendly options are a huge plus.

Hey! I totally went through this feeling a couple months ago and there are definitely a few things that really helped me feel confident about how I look and you don't even have to spend a ton of money.

1. Try out a new hairstyle. Look for inspo pics and ask your stylist to try a new cut or color.
2. Go through your closet and find the clothes that make you feel the best. Get rid of (or transform) the clothes you don't like, and check out thrift stores for some cheap new pieces to add to your wardrobe.
3. Don't forget about your skincare routine! Take care of your face and moisturize so you're always looking your best.
4. Experiment with some new makeup styles. There are tons of tutorials online, so just find a pic of makeup you like and try to recreate it if you can!
5. Cut out junk food and really take care of your body. Eat some healthy foods, start exercising, and you'll def get the boost in confidence.

There are totally low-budget ways to give yourself a makeover at home! I love accessorizing to breathe new life into my old outfits. I experiment with different earrings, necklaces, hair accessories, and belts. I also try different ways of layering my clothes. For example, I put a black turtleneck under a button-down shirt and it really elevated the outfit! Painting my nails also adds a pop of color to my outfit.

Drinking more water always helps me feel more refreshed and confident about how I look. The extra hydration gives me more energy and helps clear up my skin. It also curbs my snack cravings and eases my bloating, which makes me feel better in my clothes.

I know that drinking water isn't going to make an immediate difference in your appearance though. What I like to do for that is change up my hair. My hair is straight, so I like to curl it when I want a different look. I use a curling iron, but if you don't have one you can still give your hair some waves or curls by taking a shower, braiding your hair while it's still wet, and leaving it in for a few hours or sleeping with it overnight. If your hair is curly, you can use a straighener.

If you have friends who wear the same size clothes as you, you can give yourself a makeover by swapping clothes with them! It's free and gives you access to a ton of new wardrobe pieces. Your friend may also have accessories and beauty products that you can use to change up your look. Just be cautious about sharing things like eye or lip makeup that are applied directly to your eyes and lips, as that isn't the most sanitary.

I'm not an expert on makeovers but you could always get some new clothes from a charity shop and get a subtle hair cut if you arn't confident fully changing the way you look and need a cheap solution. (Plus the money goes to charity)

FREE tips you can do right now:
- Make a Pinterest board with photos and outfits you love.
- List the materials, colors and clothing cuts that stand out. Select from your wardrobe what comes closest to this Pinterest selection.
- Watch videos on the Kibbe body type: you'll know which clothes and cuts absolutely suit you.
- Watch videos on your color palette to know which colors are the best for you.
- Watch YouTube channels on your physical particularities to find out how to dress: short, tall, corpulent, skinny, large-breasted...
- The same goes for make-up: search on YouTube for make-up for blue eyes, brown eyes, small mouth, round face, elongated face... Depending on your particularities.
- The same goes for hairstyles.

How to go about it:
- Take one of your outfits and put it next to your other clothes: you may find some unexpected combinations!
- Combine several pieces of jewelry at the same time: multi-row necklaces, for example.
- Stand up straight, it'll give you a new look.
- Sort out your dressing room.
- Buy second-hand accessories: it's the best and the cheapest way to change an outfit.
