Do you want to save a Facebook video? Facebook doesn't make downloading videos easy. The best they offer is to allow you to save your videos to your profile so that you can watch them later, but you still need to have an internet connection and be logged into Facebook to view them. Downloading Facebook videos to your computer or device allows you to watch your favorite videos offline or at a later date without having to be logged into the social media site. This wikiHow article teaches you how to download and save Facebook videos directly from the site or use third-party apps and websites to save Facebook videos to your Android or iOS mobile device.

Save Facebook Videos

Facebook does not allow you to download videos except your own. However, you can use a Facebook video downloader website or 4K Video Downloader to download videos to your device. You can also save videos to your "Watch Later' list or a collection.

Navigate to the video you want to save in the Facebook mobile app. You can find videos your friends posted on your wall or their profile page. You can also tap the icon that resembles a TV screen at the top to view reels on the Facebook app.
- You can only download public videos. Videos from private accounts cannot be downloaded.
For Facebook posts, it's below the post. For reels, the icon resembles a curved arrow on the right side of the video. This displays the share menu.

Now, you'll need to use a mobile web browser like Chrome, Safari, or Samsung Internet to download the video. Open the web browser on your mobile device and paste the link into the address bar.

Download and install 4K Video Downloader. 4K Video Downloader is an app for desktop computers that allows you to download videos from websites like YouTube and Facebook. It is available for Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu. Go to https://www.4kdownload.com/downloads/34 in a web browser, scroll down, and click the Download button for your operating system below "4K Video Downloader." Open the installation file in your downloads folder and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
- 4K Video Downloader is the free version of the app. 4K Video Downloader Plus is the paid version. If you don't want to pay for the app, scroll down and download 4K Video Downloader a little ways down the page.
- Alternatively, you can click Download next to 4K Video Downloader for Android. This will download an APK file you can use to install the Android version of 4K Video Downloader and download videos on your Android device. This app is not available in the Google Play Store. You must download the APK file from the website and sideload it to your device.

Log in to Facebook and open the video you want to download. You can find videos your friends post on their walls. Alternatively, you can click the icon that resembles a TV screen at the top of the screen to view Facebook videos in your browser. Click Reels in the menu bar to the side to view reels.

Select a resolution and format. Use the drop-down menu at the top to select the file format. MP4 is the most common video format. Click the radio option next to the resolution you want. The higher the resolution, the better the video's quality, but it will also take up more space on your computer.
- Alternatively, you can click Smart Mode at the top and use that menu to select a permanent default resolution and file format.
You'll see the download location for the video in the bar at the bottom of the screen. If you don't see a file name before ".mp4," enter a file name before the ".mp4" file extension to give it a proper name.
It's in the lower-right corner. This downloads the video to your computer. By default, your downloaded videos can be found in the 4K Video Downloader folder in your Videos folder.

Google search "Facebook video downloaders" to see what websites are available. The available websites may change over time, but they all work very similarly. Paste the video URL into the bar. Right-click or tap and hold the bar that says "Enter Facebook video link," "Paste link here" or something similar, then click or tap Paste.

You can find videos your friends posted on your wall or their profile page. You can also find videos by clicking or tapping the icon that resembles a TV screen at the top.
It's the icon with three dots in the upper-right corner of the video or post. For Reels on your mobile device, it's in the lower right corner.
This opens a "Save To" window that you can use to save the video.

Select a collection where you want to save the video. There are a number of Collections you can save the video to. These include "Watch Later," "Post Later," and "News."
- To create a new collection, tap New Collection at the top of the menu. Type a name for the collection at the top, then select a privacy setting. Then tap Create at the bottom. Privacy settings include "Public" for everyone to view, "Friends" for just your friends, or "Private" for just you.

Find your saved videos. When you are ready to view your saved videos, you must be online and signed into Facebook. Then use the following steps to navigate to your saved videos:
- Open the Facebook app
- Tap your profile icon (Android) or the menu icon (☰).
- Tap Saved. On a computer, click Saved in the menu bar to the left.
- Tap the collection to which you saved your videos. You can also see your recently saved videos under "Most recent" at the top.

- Click your name at the top of the drop-down menu.
- Click the Videos or Reels tab at the top of the page.
